Traveled by plane to a foreign country, took a huge career risk, got published in a Scrapbooking magazine, hired someone, fired too many.

Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Nope, don’t even remember what they were. To loose that last 10 pounds

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope but Hilary got pregnant

Did anyone close to you die?
Nope, but I am still surprised how much I miss my mother.

What countries did you visit?
Mexico and Costa Rica

An
Eiffel Tower that I purchased myself in Paris, Adirondack Chairs a bit of an obsession with me,

Getting my new job, The whole week in
Costa Rica

Letting my emotions get to me, my newly acquired sleeping problem

Did you suffer illness or injury?
A cold about every two months.

What was the best thing you bought?
My own Christmas tree, a skirt that I love, and too much Lia Sophia jewelry.

Whose behavior merited celebration? Todd’s, he remains so incredibly kind and supportive that he should be the envy of every woman on the planet!

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

People I had to terminate, the kids I work with have suffered enough abuse, they don’t need any more. We are paid to be role models people!

Where did most of your money go?
Eating out, travel, craft supplies. In that order.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to another country. Our Festival of Trees Tree selling for a record high.

What song will always remind you of 2008?
“Keep Them Separated” by offspring. My official work theme song.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Sadder but optimistic about the future.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner, but not by much
c) richer or poorer? Richer, but the jury is out f it is worth it.

What do you wish you'd done more of?

Attending cultural events, plays, concerts, independent films, art museums and such.

What do you wish you'd done less of?

Watching T.V.

What was your favorite TV program?

Oooo, way too many here. I discovered Project Runway (love it) and Ace of Cakes(again Love it) There are others but those make me more creative and so feel a bit less like a complete waste of time.

What was the best book you read?

Atlas Shrugged, It took my four months and is making me reconsider my greatest accomplishment because this might be it but technically I finished in 2009 so I am not sure if it counts.

What did you want and get?

A better job, a blog, a bucket list

What did you want and not get?

A house, a trip to Europe, A masters degree, a baby. ( hoping no one caught that last one, it’s a new and very creepy feeling for me.)

What was your favorite film of this year?

Juno

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

28 spent it at some obligation we couldn’t get out of. (third year in a row, have great ambitions for 2009. Like taking the day off work, sleeping late, shopping, and eating out somewhere fun with my brilliant husband.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Making
Cottonwood a safer more stable environment

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Pinstriped dress pants, Heels ( a new for me ) a structured shirt, and a bracelet (my new signature accessory) if I am at work. Something that breaks the dress code when I am not at work, like opened toed shoes, hoop earrings, a skirt, or a tank top. For me it is part of keeping work separate from my personal life,

What kept you sane?

Finding a favorite wine, sleep late, creating something.

New nick names?

Todd became Stinky MaGee, sometimes just MaGee

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.

My life is significantly better with Todd in it. I knew this but it has come with reminders this year. To be careful what you wish for.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

Hum so not a lyrical girl how about the life motto I adopted this year. “Listen, seek knowledge, gain understanding, go confidently, live the dream.” So far stuck on steps one and too, but again hopeful.

Okay, I am at work right now and your post made me laugh so hard I now have an energy boost! You had some wonderful responses to the questions listed and I enjoyed reading your post. Now I am going to have to post a 2008 in review. I would love it if you had a baby, but for now, just keep thinking about whether you really want one. I think you will make a wonderful mother when you do have a baby! You are so creative and do so many fun things that remind me of mom. Thanks again for the fun post!
