Stuff
Here is some of the stuff that I have been making.
It took like 1,000 pictures before I got ones that I like.
Which means that Maddie had to be nice to me like 1,000 times.
And put up with me saying, "smile pretty, no that's not pretty" when she acted goofy
or scrunched up her face funny.
I hope I have not scared her for life.
Funny thing is,
and it took me way, way, way too long to figure this out.
When I asked her to just play or twirl,
She became so beautiful,
just being her sweet simple self.
Silly Aunt Amy, should have known better from the start!

In
Whooooooo!
I am In,
The Park Silly Sunday Market that is.
I will get a chance to try and sell my crafty stuff.
And see if other people like it as much and I do.
And even if they don't, I've had a great time trying.

If a caterpillar waited this long to eat......
He would be more than hungry,
He probably would have starved.
So when Hilary had Camden I promised that I would make him a blanket.
And I mostly kept my promise,
11 months late,
And with a LOT of help from Emily.
Based on the very hungry caterpillar book,
Complete with finger puppets,
And a supper fuzzy backing.
I love this sweet little quilt.

Tradition
Every year, my mother's family treks up to Muller Park and makes breakfast in the canyon.
We go all out and before anyone can leave my Aunt Sherry makes us all pose for a family photo.
Which usually drives us all nuts, but I think were getting used to it.

Dear Mom,
I miss you.
I miss the softness of your cheeks.
And watching you read.
And telling you about my day.
And having you as my best friend.
I wish I could ask you a lot of things.
Like if you ever felt this inadequate
because to me
you were always
Amazing!
How did you manage that?
I wonder what you would think of me as an adult,
of the person I’ve become,
while you were gone.
If you still think that I will turn out ok,
and what insights
you would offer into
how I can become a better person.
Because you always did that very well.
In the kind of way
that made me think
for myself.
So maybe you would
not be too disappointed
in the person I’ve become.
Even if she is a little too independent.
I wonder how our relationship
would have grown,
now that we are both
women.
What kinds of things we would do together
Just because
we enjoyed
each others company.
I wish I had learned
a little more
of your kindness.
I wish missing you
didn’t hurt so much.
And yet
In a way
I’m glad it does,
because things that are easy
usually aren’t worth very much.
